On Monday 20th of August, The Shelbourne Bar was crowned Whiskey Bar of the Year at the 2018 Bar of the Year Awards!
This awards gala was held in the Clayton Hotel Burlington Road, Dublin and was hosted by Newstalk’s Tom Dunne.
It was a joyous evening for the Rebel County, most notably for the Victorian Quarter as MacCurtain Street brought home a total of 4 awards!
The Shelbourne Bar is home to over 300 bottles of Irish whiskey, boasting a range of new releases all the way through to Irish whiskey’s over 30 years old. We pride ourselves on our extensive Irish whiskey offering which we are confident is the largest in Cork City and thus we are truly honoured to be awarded with the prestigious title of Whiskey Bar of the Year Award 2018.
This award category was proudly sponsored by The Dubliner Whiskey.
We are always striving to maintain the largest and best collection of Irish whiskey in Cork so we were overjoyed to be acknowledged at the Bar of the Year Awards!
We would like to say a huge thank you to all our team, customers, suppliers and fellow whiskey enthusiasts.
Our neighbours in Cask, just across the street, brought home a whopping 3 awards!
The Cask team were awarded Cocktail Bar of the Year, Contemporary Bar of the Year and the overall 2018 Bar of the Year Award!
Some of our fellow Corkonian champions are The Oyster Tavern winning City Bar of the Year, the Franciscan Well Brew Pub winning Tourist Bar of the Year and Traford Murphy of Ballymaloe House was crowned the Bushmills Cocktail Bartender of the Year.
A huge congratulations to all our fellow award winners!
If there wasn’t enough reason to visit the Victorian Quarter before, there certainly is now!
